How We Started

Little Sunshine Childcare Center was birthed from the vision of Founder Mrs. Willie Lou Williams. As a Pastor's wife, it was natural for Mrs. Williams to minister and care for the families that came to her for advice or prayer. Her door was always open to receive those in need of counseling and encouragement.

The next natural step was to open her home to care for the many children in need of a safe environment full of love to learn and grow socially, emotionally, and physically. So, beginning in late 2000, and for 19 years, Mrs. Williams worked her ministry and provided quality child care to all that came to her door.

Next Generation of Care

In December of 2018, Mrs. Williams decided it was time to retire and she did so in grand fashion. Her family threw a lavish celebration, and friends and family came from all over to show their support for this lady who had given so much of her time and energy to caring for others. Although Mrs. Williams has since passed the torch to her daughter, Little Sunshine remains true to its roots, providing quality care and education in a safe and nurturing environment.

What started as a favor to help working mothers in her community has now grown into a top-rated childcare center that serves over 100 children. Little Sunshine is more than just a daycare — it's a place where children can learn and grow, forming memories and friendships that will last a lifetime. We are proud to continue Mrs. Williams' legacy and be a part of making Clarksdale a great place to raise a family.
